As a visitor of our website, you can decide for yourself whether you want to allow the tracking of your data for statistical purposes or not. If you activate web analysis on this site, we only record, for a limited period (30 days), the date and time and the page on our website that you are visiting. We do not log your IP address. This data is used exclusively to improve our website. It is not used in any other way or shared with third parties.
Use of Social Networks
For the sharing of content on social networks, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut website uses buttons with the so-called Shariff solution from Heise.
Standard social media buttons transmit visitor data to the social networks on every page view and thus provide information about your surfing behaviour. For this to happen, you do not need to be logged in or to be a member of the network in question.
In contrast, a Shariff button only establishes direct contact between the social network and the visitor when the visitor actively clicks on the share button. In this way, Shariff prevents you from leaving a digital trail on every page you visit and thus improves data protection.
Further details on the nature and extent of the stored data may be found in the privacy statements of the individual websites:
The processing of user data to improve the website of the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut serves the public interest of the healthcare sector and is carried out in connection with the performance of the Institute's official tasks (Article 6(1)(e) GDPR such as § 3 BDSG). Insofar as users avail themselves of services that cannot be offered without the provision of personal data (e.g. a contact form or newsletter), the provision of such data simultaneously entails consent to its processing (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
